kittens!

This is Maggie. She came into Justine’s and my life last Wednesday with her sister Winnie. If this doesn’t make your insides all warm and squishy, then you suck at life.

She started out super skittish and all “I’m going to hide under my bed mmkay?”, but she’s really warmed up to the idea of humans over the last week. Justine actually taught her to fetch today. It’s crazy watching a kitten return to you with a wad of aluminum foil in her mouth. As for Winnie… oh my lord, she’s a freaking cuddle machine. I can’t get enough of these KITTEHS! ahhhalskdfjalksdjl. More pictures here.

True story: Micro once stole a muffin from right under our editor Daniel’s nose.

In case you haven’t been watching my updates on Twitter, I’m spending the summer at Smashface, working on EPIC FU with the best of the LA new media scene: Steve Woolf, Zadi Diaz, Rick Rey, and Sarah Atwood. IT’S AWESOME! Plus, I get to hang out with Sasha and Micro, the Smashface mascots, all day long.

Hang tight!

I have lots of photos and videos to process from my trip! I have a few up on Flickr, but there are many left to post. My sister made an AWEEEEESOME stop-motion video using her photos. It’s her very first video ever (can you believe it?!), so go tell her how fantastic she is!

In other news, my college acceptance count is now 5 for 6. My first (and hopefully only) rejection came last week. One more month to wait until I can make a decision. I’m so busy researching the programs at schools and planning campus visits. May is going to fly by.

Basically I have a huge to-do list, including behind-the-scenes stuff here too, so hang tight!

I only have 5 minutes!

Japan/Taiwan

leaving!I’m finally packed. I always get the feeling that TSA will rifle through my checked luggage because the tangle of cables and chargers in my bags looks suspicious. For most people, travel anxiety is related to fear of falling out the sky… my fear is that a TSA agent will see my underwear in my luggage. /cry

Here’s what I know of our itinerary:
Today - 11-hour flight to Japan! (TSA please don’t take my knitting needles)
4/12 - arrive in Tokyo. We’re doing an uber-touristy 6-day tour.
4/16 - flight from NRT to TPE Taiwan! My mom has seekrit plans that I think involve hiking? eek.
4/20 - fly home to good old LAX

Yay!
